Made in Mexico, from recycled injected plastic, this is a reproduction of the original wooden sculpture created by artist Mario González Márquez circa 1950. His son, Fernando González, uses the original mold to keep the artist’s legacy alive.

Since the 1950s, the affordability of these “toys” and the popularity of Mexican wrestler films, featuring kitschy real-life superheroes, have made these figures one of the most important icons of world popular culture.
