These are the early, rough sketches before the painting on the canvas. Some were made in the always reliable Moleskine, while others were drawn on an A2-sized drawing block. Inspiration came from black-and-white Mexican wrestling movies, early James Bond movies, and a trip to a beach in the North of Auckland, New Zealand.
